Notch

Blazed black bareback

2.8.2010 -  10.10.2011

About Notch

We adopted Notch from Sunshine Rats to be friends with Frazil and Rubble.  He was so named due to the perfect white arrow on his head (i.e. to notch an arrow) and because there was a little black piece of fur on his neck that looked like it had been notched out of his head.

Notch (aka Notchy) was a stunningly beautiful rat.  His markings were so spectacular from all angles that it was nearly impossible to take a bad photo of him.  That is, assuming he'd sit still long enough.  He had a lovely arrow head blaze on his head, an irregular white muzzle and a pristinely white body with just a little dot at the top of his tail.  Add a spray of long white whiskers and you just couldn't stop gazing at him.  But his personality was even more amazing than his looks.

Notch arrived a few weeks after Frazil and Rubble, and despite being the littlest fuzzlet he barged on in and took over the place!  He had so much confidence and bluster that the others weren't quite sure what to make of him.  Big Fraz spent all of their first play time together pinning him down to prove he was boss only to have Notch get up and chase him.  Then I found Fraz pinned under the little guy and squeaking indignantly!  He was bold, cheeky, full of enthusiasm and confidence!

Notch left us way too young from respiratory illness.  We'll miss his cheeky, confident personality and gorgeous appearance.
