Rumpus

Agouti hooded

7.10.2002 - 6.3.2005

About Rumpus

Rumpus came home with us along with Spritey from Carawatha Rodents.

Rumpus (aka RumpyRat or Rumps) was named after his troublesome and playful nature, and his gorgeous little agouti splotched rump.  He was a charming big squishy rat with the most adorable markings... three splotches of agouti that looked like they've dripped from his hood and pooled at his furry rump.

Rumpus was quite the character.  He was a simple rat - all he desired was food, cuddles and a comfy hammock to be perfectly happy.  But he was kind of dopey and was always unexpectedly getting into some kind of sheepish trouble, usually in the pursuit of treats.  Many of his more charming moments are archived in The Romping Rumpy Reports.   In his old age he became the perfect lap rat... all big and squishy and lazy, with thick warm fur, he would happily park himself in my lap for a long cuddle and lick my hands.  He lived his whole life with Schnapps, who enjoyed peeing on his head and grooming him madly... they were the best of friends.

Rumpy led a long, happy and healthy life, going downhill quickly and leaving us peacefully at 2 years and 5 months of age.  We'll miss his simple charm and squishy lap rat nature.

Tales of Rumpus

Rumpus was such a charmingly silly big squish that he has a whole webpage devoted to his more sheepish moments.
